Young people learned about the legal system, the negative effects of violent behavior, and how to avoid domestic violence and other types of violence at an information session. The Suriname Police Force’s Director of Operations, Police Commissioner Bryan Isaacs, Kids Ambassador Zdena Pelswijk, Attorney General Carmen Rasam, and a public prosecutor all spoke to the youth.
The young people were also given information by representatives of the Youth Affairs, Narcotics Brigade, Traffic Information, and neighborhood managers. Additionally, the Bikers had a gathering outside the structure.
Carla Bakboord, the chairwoman of the Woman’s Rights Center, coordinated the information session yesterday in cooperation with the Suriname Police Force, the Public Prosecution Service, and the Youth Ambassadors. Those between the ages of 13 and 19 were invited to this meeting.
