Around midday today, the general political thoughts has begun. This serves as a prelude to the discussion of the 2023 budget. A select group of Assembly members (party leaders and their successors) will address the yearly speech made by President Chan Santokhi at the end of September.
Marinus Bee, the chairman of the Assembly, informs the media that the parliament will speak today and tomorrow. The president will respond to the Thursday’s questions. The goal is to finish the broad political analysis by Friday at the latest.
