Herman Alendy, the chairman of the supervisory board at Staatsolie, has resigned. From dependable sources, the media discovers this. He and Staatsolie’s general manager, Annand Jagesar, reportedly had a tense working relationship. It wouldn’t be able to function correctly because of this.
Since October 2022, Alendy has served as the supervisory board’s chairman. Leo Brunswijk, who left his post to take the general manager role at the EBS, was replaced by him.
Alendy received his master’s degree from the Anton de Kom University of Suriname in 1981 and accepted a job at Suralco shortly after receiving his master’s degree. After working for Suralco for eight years, Alendy went on to study at the Colorado School of Mines in Colorado, where he earned a Master of Science in Mineral Economics and a Master of Engineering degree.
After returning to Suriname in 1991 and being rehired by Suralco, Alendy held various positions and international assignments at Suralco, including Manager Suralco Bauxite Mine Operations, Manager Special Projects and Mine Manager Suralco L.L.C
