In a variety of areas, including gender-based violence, climate change, health, technical aid, food, culture, tourism, and the IMF program, President Santokhi underscored Canada’s ongoing commitment to the support of Suriname. The chief of state declared, “Even with the latest oil discoveries, Suriname is preparing for new chances for commerce and investment between the two countries in the oil and gas industry.
President Santokhi expressed appreciation to the Canadian government on behalf of the Republic of Suriname and expressed a desire to strengthen current bilateral collaboration at all levels.
