Angela van der Kooye, chair of the Center for Communication & Public Relations (CCPR), is pleased that Suriname is affiliated with the regional Communication Platform. On September 1 and 2, the communication conference, Power of the Caribbean Kingdom, took place in the World Trade Center in Curaçao. There were communication professionals present from the islands of Bonaire, Curaçao, Aruba, St Eustatius, Saba and Suriname to exchange knowledge.
The CCPR has been invited as a keynote speaker to highlight Intercultural Communication. According to Van der Kooye, the masterclass the umbrella of Intercultural Communication was a great success. 150 participants participated in the Suriname congress and masterclass. The congress was opened by Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas of Curaçao and State Secretary Alexandra van Nuffelen, Kingdom Relations and Digitization.
With the outstanding representation of CCPR, the tone has been set to position Suriname regionally in the field of communication. Angela van der Kooye said that as a keynote speaker, it was a huge honor and a reward for the hard work that has been done in the field of knowledge exchange since 2015. Placing the communication profession broadly on the agenda and bringing national, regional and international communication professionals together remain important principles of CCPR. The importance of knowledge exchange and strengthening capacity is necessary to take communication to a higher level. On the second day of the congress, the Regional Communication Platform was also established, in which Suriname is also represented.
