The Surinaamse Luchtvaart Maatschappij (SLM) and V2 Aviation DMCC of Dubai have agreed to a lease for an A340-300. The contract is valid for 8 months. Work on phasing in and establishing an agreement for a longer period will be done during this time.
The B737-800 lease deal with AerCap was signed in the month of December 2022. On the local route, this aircraft is already operational. The Airbus A340-300 phase-in process has also been given approval by SLM’s Supervisory Board. On Monday, the contract was signed.
According to SLM, the A340-300, which will be used on the Mid-Atlantic route, is still in Jordan where the technical preparation of the aircraft is being completed. The phase-in procedure is still being worked on smoothly by all stakeholders, and the objective is to welcome the aircraft as soon as it lands in Suriname.
