President Chandrikapersad Santokhi sworn in two officials on October 17th, 2022 at the presidential palace, as ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Suriname, respectively.

The head of state told Ambassador Moertabadat that formal bilateral ties with the Republic of Indonesia have been maintained for more than four decades. Both countries agree that global issues require joint approaches, which are the basis of multilateralism, solidarity and partnership. This will also be the view of our Head of State as CARICOM President at this year’s 17th G-20 Heads of State Meeting in Bali.
Ambassador Reita Joemrati was also asked to give depth to the partnership as well as support the realization of national development goals with Morocco.
President Santokhi wished the ambassadors success and expressed the hope that they will represent Suriname in a dignified manner.
