President Chandrikapersad Santokhi spoke with several stakeholders about the communications of the Office of the President on November 17, 2022. The entire Cabinet organization, including the communication structure, is undergoing a general restructuring and reorganization process.
One of the stakeholders with whom the president spoke and who was notified of the rearrangement was the president’s spokeswoman. In terms of content and in light of the direction the president wants to go, the role of the spokesperson has been discussed.
Reorganizing communication has been scheduled over a two-week period in order to fully prepare and educate individuals involved. A decision regarding the changes will be made after the two-week period, and both the Surinamese people and all media outlets will be informed. To make sure that everything goes as planned, the president requests everyone’s cooperation. The president requests that no unnecessary noise be made in the interim as everything will remain in tact.
