Talks between Suriname and Panama about strengthening cooperation center on advancing ties between the two nations. The topic of improving commercial connections was the main topic of discussion on January 8, 2023. According to media sources, Foreign Affairs, International Business, and International Cooperation (BIBIS) Minister Albert Ramdin claims this.

Visa policies and tourism have been discussed. The minister noted that Surinamese citizens currently have difficulty traveling to Panama without an American visa. He continues by stating that Panama has pledged to address this issue. The minister claims that this will aid in promoting both business and tourism.

The BIBIS minister further claims that Panama and BIBIS have discussed collaboration in the area of police training. They have an effective police training system. Therefore, Minister Ramdin said, “We will quickly inquire with the Ministry of Justice and Police as to what and how may be done.”
