The Director of Vocational Education, Gracia Ormskirk, has been fired, according to Secretary Henry Ori. This decision’s justifications remain a secret.
Two board members at the ministry, both leaders of the National Party of Suriname (NPS), have been fired by Minister Henry Ori of Education, Science, and Culture. They are Dorothy Hoever, Deputy Director of Technical Services, and Gracia Ormskirk, Director of Vocational Education. Why the two officials were released is yet unknown.
The Director of General Education, Sherida Zalman-Bergraaf, is charged with supervising Ormskirk’s position. Minister Ori communicated this to the staff and personnel of the ministry in a letter. Ormskirk serves on the Advisory Board of the NPS.
How far that chief board member is, like Ormskirk, was relieved of her position on August 22. Deputy Director of Financial Management, Arwind Moerlie, is charged with deputizing this function. This has been announced in a circular by the Director of Administrative and Technical Management, Natasia Bennanon.
