On October 28, 2022 in the Para district, President Chandrikapersad Santokhi presented ground papers to civilians.
At the presentation of the land papers President Santokhi said, that today another promise was fulfilled he has promise that the land application will be dealt with expeditiously where possible. Every Surinamese has the right to a piece of land; it offers a certainty in life.
President Santokhi congratulated the citizens who received their ground papers. He explicitly stated that he was using the land well for the purpose for which it was allocated.
