The police of the Fraud Department has also arrested Carlos V., the life partner of the bank employee Sharon Z., on suspicion of fraudulent acts in the millions fraud case of the Hakrinbank in Suriname.
Sharon and her boyfriend Reynaldo J. were previously arrested in this case. In the interest of the investigation, their vehicles, two Toyota Hilux Roccos, were seized as it is suspected that these pickups were purchased with the money obtained from fraud.
The bank employee had called in sick after the discovery of the alleged fraud. An internal investigation by the bank had revealed that funds had been transferred to various persons including her boyfriend. It is currently unknown exactly how much money has disappeared from the bank in total.
After coordination with the Surinamese Public Prosecution Service, all three suspects, namely the bank employee, her husband and her boyfriend have been taken into custody.
