Government and the Private Line Bus Holders Group have achieved an understanding after protracted negotiations (PLO). The cost per ride for the city service is set at SRD 12.50. This sum will serve as the basis for determining all additional routes.

The deal is in effect until March 31, according to Transport, Communication, and Tourism Minister Albert Jubithana. Hence, the parties establish the possibility of having the Ministry of Finance screen a portion of the new rates for the possibility of compensation.

The buses will now operate for SRD 12.50 each city mile. Public transportation is once again guaranteed with this arrangement.
