The National Assembly (DNA) voted in a historic session on Friday, October 13, to revise the Constitution and change the electoral laws. However, later investigations showed that DNA had not at all voted in favor of changing the Constitution. The Electoral Regulations Amendment has received two votes, according to the media. With 46 votes, the Electoral Regulations modification was overwhelmingly approved.
DNA has now sent an emergency notice so that a vote can be taken for the constitutional amendment. The assembly members have been summoned before tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. to cast their votes.
It is not yet clear how this blunder was committed. However, there also seems to be an error in the emergency convocation. It says “Continuation of the agenda for October 2, 2023”, even though the October 2 meeting has already formally closed.
