Ricardo Bhola, the District Commissioner (DC) of Paramaribo Noordoost, tells the media that he stands with his indigenous brothers and sisters in their fight for equal rights in our nation. According to Bhola, the work that has been going on in the Palm Garden for months has prevented the residents from performing spiritual rites there.
He continues by saying that the messages are unambiguous and simple. I suppose that everybody who can hear and listen clearly understood the message. The demand for a little legal certainty predates the present. We all like a sense of security in our lives, but this group should also not be overlooked.
The DC said that he hope that the current government will solve this issue for everyone. The indigenous people have a right to the entire territory of Suriname.
