The judiciary continues to give substance to constitutional obligations in an impartial and independent manner notwithstanding the shelling and projectiles at the Monseigneur Wulfinghstraat subdistrict court. The Court of Justice has declared this (CJEU).
The ECJ has already dealt with such acts on a number of times, and Friday night’s incident, like earlier ones, has again highlighted the need for caution.
On Monday, January 16, courthouse operations will resume as usual while the outcome of the police inquiry is anticipated.
In the meantime, security is being increased in and around the courthouses.
