There is still time for entrepreneurs to register on the Tax and Customs Administration website. This is once more possible as of right now at the Tax Authorities kiosk on the Van Sommelsdijckstraat.

Value-added tax (VAT) was implemented as of yesterday. The National Assembly revised the statute on December 29. According to the Tax and Customs Administration, furthering the application of VAT is a top priority. All business owners are urged to ascertain their registration requirements as soon as possible.

The Tax and Customs Administration will keep in touch with the business owners frequently. The operation of the general awareness campaign will also be significantly expanded. To ensure that everyone in Suriname understands how the VAT works, the general awareness campaign will also be greatly increased.
