Recently, a tour was held in Buccament Bay, where construction on the eagerly awaited Sandals Resort is still going strong. According to NBC Radio, Sandals International will have a hiring fair beginning on September 26, 2023, to attract more Vincentians.

Terence Des Vignes, the regional project director for Sandals International, stated during a brief tour of the project last Friday that Sandals International is actively recruiting around St. Vincent to fill managerial and supervisory jobs, among other positions. He stated that “this hotel will have, permanently working, 800 people” when it opens.

Speaking to the media Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said among the workers needed are masons, tile men, and painters. He said more Vincentians who specialize in these areas should apply for work on the project site. Civil works on the project are expected to be completed in less than 100 days.
