Last night, President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali departed on a three-day trip to Washington, DC, from Guyana Ali is anticipated to meet with a number of participants from the US Congress and the State Department, according to a statement from the President’s Office.
A presentation from Ali is anticipated at the Organization of American States (OAS). He also has appointments to visit many universities, including the National Defense University, and participate in a number of private sector gatherings.
The President is joined by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugh Todd; the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Oneidge Walrond; Foreign Secretary Robert Persaud and the Chief of Staff of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), Brigadier Omar Khan on the trip.
