Dr. Frank Anthony, the minister of health, officially opened a new medical facility on Friday in Siriki, a little town in Region 2 tucked away along the Pomeroon River.

The $23 million facility was situated in a convenient location to relieve villagers of their burden and spare them the exhausting trip to far-off medical facilities. The new facility is anticipated to ease residents’ financial burdens while facilitating easy access to high-quality healthcare in the neighborhood.

The entire health centre relies on solar power, underscoring its modern and sustainable approach.

In his remarks, Dr Anthony emphasized the importance of enhancing primary healthcare and expanding the range of services offered.

With the hope of providing 216 distinct medical interventions at each health facility, the authorities invested in its solar refrigerators to ensure the safe storage of vaccines, bolstering the availability of essential medicines for the community.
