Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, an international hospitality company, has officially announced its intent to make a significant investment in Belize’s tourism sector, according to a statement from the government. The company will build a private island getaway on Caye Chapel, with an estimated value of US$200 million in the project’s first phase, the statement added.
Prime Minister John Briceno over the weekend said there’s confidence in Belize from local and foreign investors. He posted: “Four Seasons Resort and Residences held a Reveal Celebration – a groundbreaking for one of its newest tourism properties to be located on Caye Chapel. The first phase represents US$200M foreign direct investment.”
The prime minister said tourism has rebounded and Belize is on its way to realizing pre-COVID19 arrivals. He added that this new project at its completion will certainly take Belize’s tourism sector to another level attracting visitors seeking that more high-end experience.
Caye Chapel is a small private island community northeast of Belize City.
