In Karaudarnau Village, Region Nine, the new $14 million agro-processing complex was inaugurated on Saturday by Agriculture Minister Zulfikar Mustapha.

The facility was created primarily to support both new and established agro-processors and increase the value-added production of peanuts grown locally.

More than 200 people are anticipated to benefit from it because it will provide them the chance to earn more money and strengthen their company development abilities.

While offering remarks, Minister Mustapha said that the government has been building similar facilities across the country to promote and facilitate agro-processing and value-added production.

He said that facilities are now being constructed in hinterland areas to boost the village economies.

The facility will benefit all stakeholders, enabling them to access better prices for their products by expanding their presence in local and international markets through value-added production. By installing modern equipment, the facility will achieve greater efficiency in producing high-demand items like peanut butter, roasted peanuts, parched peanuts, and cashew nuts, resulting in more favorable prices than selling raw products.
